Competitive sports really are beneficial to kids. They teach them different skill that will be needed in the future, and how to work hard to achieve a goal they set for themselves. A growing body of research literature also finds that in addition of improved health, sports play a very important role in youth development, including ameliorated academic achievement, higher self-esteem, fewer behavior problems, and psychological well-being. Overall, kids are able to have fun and experience many new things such as teamwork and sportsmanship as they associate and work as a team with kids who are different than themselves through playing the numerous types of competitive sports there are out there.
